The list of countries represented includes quite a number of countries with emerging economies, many of them with a strong IT industry. I myself work in Romania.
I do not know how many of these participants will also join the Unconference, but it would be very interesting to discuss issues specific to Enterprise 2.0 / Office 2.0 in emerging economies. Here are some of my questions:
- do you find that budgeting considerations would make Office 2.0 tools much more appealing than traditional software packages? what changes in the pricing model might make them even more so?
- what cultural issues face collaborative efforts in these countries? For example, in former Communist countries, adult generations have been steeped in a climate of fear, where hiding whatever you were doing was a major strategy for survival. This leads to special issues in obtaining executive buy-in and widens the "collaborative culture" generation gap even more than usual.
- what frameworks have you successfully used in communicating Enterprise 2.0 concepts? How are these adapted to the local culture and environment?
